ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at the building level.
- Work with teachers, building principals and administration to promote a healthy, positive learning environment for students and staff
- Serve on multidisciplinary teams to promote safe and caring family and home environments
- Participate in community activities that lead to stronger family supports and services
- Constantly increase knowledge of community resources, as well as build relationships with of agencies that can assist students and families
- Work in partnership with other staff members to observe, collect data and develop plans to assist students identified as needing support to improve performance
- Attend Parent Fair, Parent Teacher Conferences, Meet the Teacher Night
- Teacher/administrator/parent/guardian consultation
- Building-based intervention teams
- Needs assessment of individual students and families utilizing strength based approach
- Provide individual support services
- Provide group support services
- Consult with staff/parents/guardians
- Participate on the Crisis Response Team
- Participate on the student intervention team
- Advocacy for students, including the areas of child abuse and neglect, confidentiality and encouraging parent involvement
- Provide appropriate referrals for families
- Plan programming for the school that addresses identified areas of need in the general population
- Promote a positive and caring school community through appropriate intervention

- Assist in the implementation of bullying and drug prevention programming
- Provide guidance lessons to each grade level
- Provide programming that addresses issues that lead to a positive school environment that is physically and emotionally safe for all students. This may include conflict resolution, bullying prevention, drug and alcohol safety, body safety and character education.
- Provide opportunities for parent education, support and encouragement
- Provide individual services
- Provide group support services
- Participates in ongoing self-assessment and self-evaluation
- Maintains ethics of social work practice
- Utilizes and interprets research in maintaining best practice standards in programming.
- Participates fully in performance evaluations with supervisors
- Provides consultation and training to families, teachers, school personnel and community representatives to further common goals of providing the best educational experience for students
- Maintains satisfactory attendance
- Completes required training in a timely manner
- Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook
- Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives
